 How to: Install LED Strips

This install will outline how to install our LED strips are front and rear courtesy lights.

Start by removing the map light housing, do this by taking a flat head screw driver wrap it with a cloth and stick it between the edge of the map light housing and the cloth headliner.  if you are unsure how to do this please refer to the owners manual.

Run the wire under the headliner and pass it though the map light opening.  Unclip the map light connector, take a pair of scissors and carefully cut away the tape and protective covering to expose the wires like above.

Use the supplier tap-ins to make the following connections:

Red/Black wire - Ground use the supplied tap-in to connect the black wire from the wire harness to the red/black wire.
Orange wire - Power use the supplied tap-in to connect the red wire from the wire harness to the black wire.

At this point double check and ensure you made a solid connection by hooking up a led strip to the end of the wire harness (black to black, red to red)

Plug the map light connector back into the housing and reinstall the housing into the headliner.  Next we need to hide the wire you can do this pushing it along the window and headliner it will hide under the headliner.  When you hit the pillar you can pull back the pillar slightly and tuck the wire under and continue down by hiding it under the weather stripping right down to the foot well.

Install the strip in the foot wells using the provided double sided tape.  Pass the wire from the passenger side foot well to the drivers side to make needed connections.

If you are installing the LED strips in the rear also pass the second wire harness though the center console as shown below, hide the wire and pass one side to the drivers foot well, leave the other side in the center console.

Refer to the picture above to make the needed connections,  Ensure you keep black to black and red to red.  Feed both front and back wire harness ends into the butt connector (black with black, red with red) crimp one end of the butt connector.  Now feed both ends of the front LED strips into the other ends of the butt connectors (black with black, red with red) now crimp that end.  At this time your two front LED strips will work.

Now for the two back connectors install both LED strips under the seats ensure that you do not make contact with the bottom of the LED strips and the metal under the seat.

Feed both wires from each side of the LED strips into the center console like shown above.  Install a butt connector on the ends of the wire harness, on the other end of the butt connector install the matching wires from the two rear LED strips, crimp the ends.

At this point all four LED strips should be working. Hide all wires and install install the center console.  Enjoy!
